The Mobilizing for Mental Health Equity Symposium is a transformative event dedicated to promoting mental health equity through research, clinical innovation, and community partnership. Taking place on Friday, October 17 at Goldwurm Auditorium, Icahn Medical Institute (1425 Madison Avenue, New York, NY), this half-day symposium brings together leaders in psychiatry, psychology, and social work to explore new pathways for careers in public psychiatry and mental health advocacy.
The program includes panel discussions on clinical services and research, keynote remarks, career conversations, and networking opportunities. Attendees will also learn about groundbreaking initiatives such as the upcoming NYS OMH-Mount Sinai Public Psychiatry Research Fellowship launching in 2026, and Columbia University’s distinguished Public Psychiatry Fellowship.
In partnership with the Icahn School of Medicine, Mount Sinai Health Systems, HOPE Center Harlem, Columbia University, and the American Psychiatric Association Foundation, this event underscores the critical role of collaboration in advancing accessible, equitable care. Free continuing education credits will be available for participants.
